Tuesday Tip – packing fragile China
November 21st, 2017 by John PetersWe at Pak Mail always want to help you pack and ship the best possible way, at the lowest cost, to get it there safely. As part of this mission, we are happy to give you advice and recommendations for packing, whether we do it or you do it at home.
Today we want to mention that china, glasses, dishware, pottery, and statues should always be wrapped in bubble wrap, covering the surface 2-3 times. We use large bubble wrap, with the only exception being when we stack plates and put a sheet of small bubble wrap in between. We then wrap that stack in large bubble wrap. Place these items in a new durable corrugated box. We have many different box sizes here to accommodate them. Any empty space should be filled with styrofoam peanuts. Paper does not absorb shock so don’t use that just to fill the space. This box should go into a second box with 2 inches of styro on each side.
If this sounds overwhelming, bring it in, and we will be happy to take care of it for you whether you are shipping domestically or internationally. We love it when you entrust us with your important family treasures whether it is for Christmas or any time of year.
